Microscopic Description -- Abdominal Pain

MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION:

Sections show liver which has been infiltrated by a diffuse lymphoid proliferation composed of large, transformed cells with irregular nuclear contours in some areas. Other areas demonstrate smaller angulated cells. Numerous mitoses are present.

Some areas show diffuse sclerosis. The lymphoid proliferation appears to be expanding the hepatic sinuses in some areas with residual hepatocyte cords.
