Gross Description -- Fever and a Hilar Pulmonary Mass


GROSS DESCRIPTION:

The sample submitted to pathology consisted of multiple anthracotic lymph nodes and fragments of tan tissue from various levels of the mediastinum. The lymph nodes were grossly unremarkable. Tissue was submitted for flow cytometry to rule out a lymphoid neoplasm. Material was also submitted to the microbiology laboratory for fungal and mycobacterial culture.
