Current Research and Clinical Interests:

  1. Developing R21 MRI and Stillbirth Study: The study has 3 aims1) in situ MRI visualization of the umbilical cord in stillbirth in the uterus 2) specific questions to parents about perimortem events, such as sleeping position, abnormal fetal movements, 3) Autopsy and placental studies that are aimed at quantifying fetal biophysical adaptation mechanisms prior to death.   2. Clinical correlation study of chronic histiocytic villitis with potential clinical markers of acute antibody rejection such as c4d erythrocytes.
  3. Various projects related to trying to demonstrate a reproducible clinical value to placental diagnoses
