Microscopic Description -- Pulmonary Hypertension


MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION:

Examination of the cardiac muscle of both chambers revealed marked hypertrophy of cardic myocytes. Examination of the lungs revealed severe capillary congestion with extensive intraalveolar hemorrhage. Numerous small circumscribed ectatic capillary proliferations (plexiform lesions) were identified in the lung parenchyma. Examination of the liver revealed severe chronic passive congestion with centrizonal fibrosis.
