Microscopic and Immunochemistry Description -- A 62 year old female with progressive abdominal/pelvic pain


MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION:

On H&E, the tumor showed epitheloid neoplastic cells arranged in cords and lobules and lying in abundant myxiod matrix (Figures 7, 8 and 9). Many of the neoplastic cells exhibited vacuolated cytoplasm and central, vesicular nuclei while others had a more signet ring type morphology (Figures 10 and 11)

IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY:

The neoplastic cells were strongly positive for AE1/3 (Figure 12) and appreciably, although not as strongly positive for S100 (Figure 13)
