The right main stem bronchus showed a 5 X 3 X 1 cm irregular, soft, yellow-brown mass which was located close to the origin of the right main bronchus. The rest of the right bronchus was necrotic and contained a large amount of mucopurulent fluid. The right lung revealed an irregular, diffuse brown-gray consolidation at the right upper lobe. The rest of the right upper lobe was soft and necrotic, with a round central cavity, 6.5 cm in diameter. The right middle lobe and right lower lobe of the lung revealed soft, green-brown, necrotic parenchyma.
