MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION:
Sections show abundant normal synovial material adjacent to which is a large, fairly well circumscribed, vascular, and cellular mucin-producing lesion. The lesion is hypocellular and shows nuclear atypia but no mitoses. Many scattered nuclei are hyperchromatic and large and show frank nuclear scalloping.
