This session will include both dissemination and discussion of findings from the currently active University of Pittsburgh/CDC Cooperative Agreement entitled: “Assessment of Best Practices for Standardized Quality Assurance Activities in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine”. This project is a multi-institutional project involving an evaluation of the effectiveness of current quality assurance processes that includes clinical outcomes evidence. Specific QA metrics that will be discussed will include cytologic-histologic correlation rates and turnaround time.
