“JCAHO Patient Safety Event Taxonomy (PSET)”

This session will provide an overview of the recently described JCAHO Patient Safety Event Taxonomy (PSET). Case examples will be discussed illustrating how the PSET may be applied to classify laboratory errors, and potential modifications to the PSET to include other specialty-specific error taxonomy schemes will be presented and discussed.
