Research Interests:

Dr. Parks' primary interest is in perinatal pathology, including fetal autopsy and placental pathology. Clinically, Dr. Parks is a perinatal pathologist with extensive experience in both autopsy and placental examinations, and currently examines the majority of the cases at Magee-Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh, approximately 4500 placentas and 90 autopsies per year. Dr. Parks research interests include trophoblast function and mechanisms of stillbirth. Dr. Parks is involved in multiple research collaborations with investigators from the Magee Women's Research Institute, the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health, the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and the Department of Obstetrics-Gynecology at Magee-Women's Hospital.
