Research Interests:

Dr. Zarnegar's research interests lie in understanding the cellular and molecular biology of a polypeptide growth factor called Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF). The focus of his lab is to dissect the regulatory regions of the HGF and Met (the HGF receptor) genes. He also investigates the physiological function of HGF in normal and neoplastic tissues. He utilizes techniques such as transgenic mice, gene targeting, and other molecular biology techniques.
