Research Interests:

Dr. Kuan is a gastrointestinal surgical pathologist. His research interests are centered around 3 main areas (1) regulation and expression of mucin genes in normal, preneoplastic and neoplastic cells and tissue in GI tract; (2) the molecular classification of colorectal and appendiceal cancers and (3) the serrated neoplastic pathway in colorectal cancer including microsatellite instable colon cancer and its precursors (SSA, TSA, mixed polyp).
