DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY PROGRAMS University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Health System The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) is a comprehensive, highly integrated medical center dedicated to providing exemplary patient care, educating the next generation of health care professionals, and advancing basic and clinical research. UPMC-HS encompasses three adult acute-care medical-surgical hospitals, UPMC Presbyterian, UPMC Montefiore and Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. Additional teaching facilities include the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Magee-Womens Hospital, and a host of specialized centers.
