Thesis Title:

Epigenetic etiology of ovarian teratomas

Current Research Description:

Human ovarian teratomas (OTs) are not known to have a clear genetic predisposition. However certain strains of mice show a predisposition to this phenotype. My project involves characterization of the pathways affected and the role of imprinting in the transgenic mouse strain TGKD generated in our lab, where the hemizygous insertion of the imprinted transgene TGKD causes OTs in 17% of the hemizygous carriers.
