Contributed by Maria Parizhskaya, M.D., Lance Cohen, M.D., and Paul S. Dickman, M.D.
Published on line in August 1996

PATIENT HISTORY

The patient was a 9 1/2 year old boy with pain in his left proximal medial thigh.

RADIOLOGY (MRI)

Nuclear medicine whole body image demostrates a mass in the left medial thigh.

Axial post-contrast T1 weighted image demonstrates a densely enhancing mass arising within the left adductor magnus muscle. The margins of the mass are somewhat indistinct due to adjacent intramuscular edema and inflammation.

Coronal T2 weighted image demonstrates the full extent of the intramuscular abnormality.
