The smaller colonies:
Biochemical tests were performed using the Rapid NFT strip (BioMe'rieux Vitek, Inc. Missouri, USA) on the organisms from the smaller colony. The results were:

The other tests performed on the smaller colonies included the triple sugar iron agar test (A/K), the oxidase test, catalase test, ornithine decarboxylase test and the indole test which were all positive. The urease test however was negative.
