IMMUNOCHEMISTRY:
In order to characterize the neoplastic infiltrate, paraffin section immunohistologic studies were performed on sections from the lymph node.
The results of some selected stains are listed below:
| Antigen/Antibody | Result |
| Pankeratin | Large cells are negative |
| S-100 | Large cells are negative |
| HMB-45 | Large cells are negative |
| CD45 | Focal weak staining of few large cells |
| CD20 | Few large cells are positive (Image 6) |
| CD30 | Few large cells are positive (Image 7) |
| CD138 | Variable weak staining of some large cells (Image 8) |
| Anti kappa | Interfollicular plasma cells are polyclonal, large cells are negative |
| Kappa m-RNA ISH | Interfollicular plasma cells are polyclonal, large cells are negative |
| Anti lambda | Interfollicular plasma cells are polyclonal, large cells show lambda restriction |
| Lambda m-RNA ISH | Interfollicular plasma cells are polyclonal, large cells show lambda restriction |
| Double kappa/lambda | Interfollicular plasma cells are polyclonal (Image 9), large cells show lambda restriction (Image 10) |
| Bcl-2 | Weak staining of some large cells |
| ALK | Large cells are negative |
| Ki-67 | Almost 100% of large cells positive (Image 11) |
