Microscopic Description -- left chest mass

MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION:

Microscopic examination revealed an encapsulated cellular mass (Image 03) with a necrotic center (Image 04). The bland spindle cells were interspersed with collagen fibers with a storiform pattern focally (Images 05, 06, 07 and 10). Rare mitoses were present, 3 per 10 high power fields. Immunohistochemical stains for vimentin (Image 08) and CD34 (Image 09) were positive . Stains for cytokeratin, desmin, S100, and HMB45 were negative. Stain for CD68 revealed a few strongly immunoreactive cells along the edge of the necrotic tissue.
