Gross Description -- A Right Upper Quadrant Cyst


GROSS DESCRIPTION:

The specimen consisted of a 17.5x13.5x1.5 cm cystic mass which had been previously opened and drained, with an open circumference of 36 cm (Images 03, 04 and 05). There was a flattened and stretched adrenal gland overlying and in part within the cyst. The inner surface of the cyst was smooth with some attached fibrin and blood clots. The outer surface showed areas of hemorrhage and fibrin deposition.
