GROSS DESCRIPTION:
The specimen consists of a wedge of lung tissue measuring 4.5x2.5x1.4 cm. Pleura is smooth and glistening. On section there is a subpleural, well demarcated, yellow-tan, rubbery nodule, measuring 1.5x1.0x0.9 cm and it is situated 0.9 cm from the surgical resection margin. The remaining lung parenchyma is tan and spongy.
