GROSS DESCRIPTION OF BIOPSY SPECIMEN:
The left segmental mastectomy consists of an oval portion of yellow-tan, soft breast tissue, 6.5 by 5.0 by 1.3 cm in greatest dimension with sutures attached. The specimen is inked and serially sectioned. Section reveal a pale-tan, glistening lesion, 1.6 by 0.7 by 0.4 cm in greatest dimension. The lesion comes within 0.1 cm of the anterior resection margin.
