Gross Description -- Postoperative Abdominal Discomfort


GROSS DESCIPTION

The specimen , labeled ilium, consisted of a 6.8 x 5.5 x 3.8 cm portion of tan-yellow, firm cortical bone with attached fibroconnective tissue with a 2.8 x 2.0 cm segment of overlying gray skin. The central aspect the skin contained a 0.5 cm ulceration which communicated with a fistula tract which extended to a 1.0 x 1.0 cm area of gray necrotic material which was surrounded by tan-yellow firm cortical bone.
