GROSS DESCRIPTION:
External examination of the brain showed no grossly identifiable abnormalities. Coronal sections through the cerebral hemispheres showed ">focal softening of the genu of the corpus callosum and left cingulate gyrus with thickening of the overlying leptomeninges. Affected tissue was swollen, creamy white, and focally lytic.
