The Department of Pathology Residency Program -
Evaluation and Advancement

Contracts are renewed yearly upon satisfactory completion of rotations and as measured by milestones. Each resident is evaluated after each rotation by faculty supervisors. Any problems or concerns that develop during residency are shared with the residents during periodic meetings with the residency director including the six-month biannual performance review. If an issue arises, every reasonable attempt is made to provide the resident with counseling, remedial help, schedule alterations, and leaves of absence to accommodate his or her particular needs while ensuring that ACGME requirements as well as those of the program and clinical sites are adequately met. The performance of residents is assessed by a Clinical Competency Committee.
