Library Services
The Maurice and Laura Falk Library of the Health Sciences is located in Scaife Hall, in the core of the medical complex and provides easy access by all residents. Falk houses 250,000 volumes, receives 2,600 serials yearly, offers on-line data base searching (Medline), and participates in interlibrary loans.
The Department of Pathology maintains a resident pathology library in each hospital to ensure that residents have all necessary material readily available. Each pathology library contains comprehensive and frequently updated books and journals on general topics, selected specialty journals, numerous glass slide study sets on specialized topics, and a gross specimen study collection. Medline is available in the department using Grateful Med interactive software. The library at Montefiore University Hoapital is also a resource center for residents, giving them access to a variety of teaching cassettes and computers.
