Clinical Experties

Dr. Triulzi has general expertise in the area of transfusion medicine with particular clinical and research expertise in transfusion support of organ and stem cell transplant patients. He is highly involved both locally and nationally in Patient Blood Management and its application to orthopedic surgery, cardiac surgery and trauma.

Research Interests

Dr Triulzi has held numerous grants in the area of transfusion medicine and currently serves as PI on the NIH Transfusion Medicine Hemostasis Clinical Trials grant and the NIH REDSIII grant. His interests include adverse effects of transfusion, the red cells storage lesion and epidemiologic studies of transfusion. He serves as Co-PI on the NIH multicenter RECESS study of age of blood in cardiac surgery.
