Department of Pathology
Faculty Professional Development
In the summer of 2005, Dr.
Michalopoulos convened the Women’s Task Force to examine
issues pertaining to female faculty in the Department of
Pathology. A survey of all faculty, fellows and residents
was conducted by the Task Force. One of the areas for
improvement identified by those participating in the survey
was the need for enhanced and innovative mentoring options
for young faculty of both genders. In response to this
need, the Department has established this website to provide
links to various School of Medicine offices, promotion
policies, lecture series, University Times articles and
other interesting sites that promote the professional and
personal development of all faculty. In addition, links
specifically concerning women faculty have been listed to
enhance their career progression. Creating opportunities
to improve the well-being of our faculty is a priority for
the Department. In order to further assist faculty in their
professional journey, this site will be updated periodically
with additional links and a ‘frequently asked questions’
section.
